Refund Policy

When Scanlayer refunds a subscription, how the EU right of withdrawal applies, and where to ask for purchases made in the mobile app.

This policy explains when you get your money back, and how to ask. It sits alongside the Terms of Service, which govern your subscription.

1. Try before you pay

Starter, Pro, and Business plans include a 14-day free trial, once per account. We do not charge during the trial, and cancelling before it ends means no payment is taken — so there is nothing to refund.

2. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason. This is a statutory right and it is not limited by anything else on this page.

Because the Service is digital content made available immediately, starting a paid subscription means asking us to begin performance during that period. Once we have fully performed, the right of withdrawal ends; where we have only partly performed, we keep a proportionate amount for what you used and refund the rest.

To withdraw, a clear statement is enough — an email to the address below. We refund within 14 days of receiving it, using the same payment method you paid with.

3. Subscriptions bought on our website

Workspace plans and template subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the period you are already in, and your access continues until that period ends.

Outside the withdrawal right above, renewal payments are not automatically refundable. We do refund them in two cases: when you were charged for something you had already cancelled, and when the Service was unavailable or broken for a meaningful part of the period you paid for. Write to us and say what happened.

4. Purchases made inside the mobile app

Event packs bought in the iOS or Android app are sold by Apple or Google, not by us. We cannot refund them, and we cannot see your payment method. Refund requests go to the store that took the payment:

  • Apple: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, or through Settings on your device.
  • Google Play: request a refund in the Play Store under Order history.

When a store tells us a purchase was refunded, we remove the matching entitlement from the workspace. If that leaves an event without hosting, the event page stops being reachable.

5. What we do not refund

  • Periods you have already used, except under the withdrawal right or where the Service failed.
  • Free promotional bundles and entitlements we granted without payment — there was no payment to return.
  • Charges you dispute more than 12 months after they were taken, unless the law gives you longer.

6. How to ask

Email [email protected] with the workspace name and roughly when you were charged. We do not need a reason, and we will tell you what we decided — and why, if the answer is no — within 14 days.

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. How long your bank takes after that is outside our control; it is usually a few business days.

7. Your statutory rights

Nothing on this page limits rights you have by law, including your rights as a consumer. Where this policy and the law disagree, the law wins.
