No lock-in

Not our AI.
Yours.

Scanlayer does not lock you into a single built-in chatbot. Instead, Scanlayer provides an MCP connection so the AI assistant you already use can securely understand and interact with your Scanlayer workspace.

Bring your own AI

Use Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or another MCP-compatible client. Switch anytime without moving your data.

Built on MCP

Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting AI tools to live product data and actions.

Live workspace data

Your AI can answer using current Scanlayer data, not outdated exports or manual reports.

Scoped to your workspace

Every AI connection is tied to your Scanlayer account, workspace, role, and permissions.

How it works

Three steps to your Scanlayer copilot

Connect once, then ask questions naturally. Your AI client communicates with Scanlayer's secure MCP server on your behalf.

1

Connect your AI

Add the Scanlayer MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or another compatible client in your connector settings.

2

Authorize your account

Authenticate with your Scanlayer API token from Settings → API & MCP. Workspace analytics tools require a Business plan.

3

Ask in plain language

Ask questions about QR scans, NFC interactions, menus, appointments, events, feedback, and campaigns — no SQL, no exports.

Security

Connected only to your account

Your AI assistant does not receive unrestricted access to Scanlayer. Every request is authenticated, scoped, and permission-aware.

Workspace-level access

Your AI only accesses Scanlayer workspaces you belong to. Other workspaces remain completely isolated.

Role-based permissions

The AI connection follows the same permissions you already have inside Scanlayer. No elevated access is granted.

Bearer token authentication

Connections use Sanctum API tokens from your account — not shared passwords embedded in connector configs.

Revoke anytime

Delete tokens from Settings → API & MCP to disconnect any AI client immediately.

Your data stays yours. Scanlayer's MCP connection is scoped, authenticated, and logged. Your AI assistant can only read and act on what your account already has permission to access.
